The Sapporo Group’s Research and Development Structure is
characterized by its ability to handle projects holistically,
integrating the research functions of each group company—from the
breeding of raw materials centered on barley and hops to the
development of containers and packaging, as well as Research into
the materials and functions of lemon ingredients. Members with
diverse expertise collaborate across
departments to leverage
their respective strengths. By blending a culture that respects
the challenges undertaken by young researchers with the insights
of experienced researchers, we promote R&D that combines
practicality with future potential.An environment where R&D
researchers can be involved from basic research through to
commercialization fosters their professional growth.
Sapporo Group’s Core Technologies
We have identified as core technologies the strengths of Sapporo Breweries’ R&D—which stem from foundational technologies such as raw materials, brewing and fermentation, Japanese spirits and blending, analysis, and packaging—along with the strengths of Pokka Sapporo Food & Beverage, which focuses on the functionality of food ingredients centered on lemons and creates new “deliciousness” in products like soups. Moving forward, we aim to create future value by deepening and expanding these core technologies and Research Areas.
