Sapporo Sustainability Journey
The Sapporo Group is committed to realizing
its Management Vision of
“As an intrinsic part of people's lives,
creating enrichment and contributing to prosperity.”
We strive to create value that contributes to solving global social issues,
aiming to achieve both “the realization of a sustainable society” and “the Group’s sustainable growth.”
The Origins of the Sapporo Group:
It All Began in
Hokkaido
Sapporo Breweries were born on the land of Hokkaido in 1876.
Since our founding, our commitment to valuing people and
nature has remained our foundation to this day.
Sapporo Sustainability:
A Group-Wide Challenge
We rely on nature’s bounty, such as agricultural products and
water.
To ensure the sustainability of our business, we must not
only secure
a stable supply of raw materials but also minimize
the environmental
impact of their production processes as much
as possible.
We, the Sapporo Group, view various environmental
changes as
opportunities for business growth. By adapting flexibly,
we will
continue to realize Sustainability in a way that is uniquely
Sapporo.
Initiatives by Each Company
Sapporo Breweries
In addition to our collaborative contract cultivation program, we have launched “field management,” an initiative designed to strengthen our response to Sustainability challenges.
POKKA SAPPORO FOOD & BEVERAGE
We are advancing H+ESG management that contributes to people’s well-being through coexistence with nature and the delicious taste and health benefits of lemons.
Sapporo Lion
We are implementing the “Agriculture Project,” in which employees engage in vegetable production at agricultural sites.
Stone Brewing
We reuse brewing by-products such as spent grain as animal feed and compost, promoting a circular brewing process.
SLEEMAN BREWERIES
We established the “Sleeman Better Water Fund” to support water conservation and improve access to clean and safe water in communities across Canada.
Sapporo Vietnam
At our Long An Brewery, we promote sustainable water use by reducing water consumption and addressing local water-related risks.
POKKA PTE. LTD.
We contribute to Singapore’s circular economy by being a member of the consortium that has set up a beverage container return scheme.
The Sapporo Group's
Sustainability
Journey Continues
We will continue to tackle our Sustainability journey as a
united group.
First, with 2030 as
a key milestone,
we will work to create
value aimed at solving social issues.
And looking beyond
that, we will continue our efforts to realize our vision of
“pioneering a more prosperous future.”
