Japan has become one of the world’s most long-lived societies, supported by advances in medical care and improvements in public health. However, there remains a gap of approximately ten years between average life expectancy and healthy life expectancy for both men and women, highlighting the issue that living longer does not necessarily mean living in good health. In addition, the number of patients suffering from lifestyle-related diseases continues to increase each year. It has become clear that these diseases are influenced less by genetic factors or external environments and more significantly by daily lifestyle habits, including diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption, and sleep.
Against this backdrop, POKKA SAPPORO Food & Beverage is committed to addressing nutritional issues that increase the risk of lifestyle-related diseases through initiatives in the field of food. By fostering a food environment that enables people to lead healthy and fulfilling lives, we aim to contribute to the enhancement of well-being across society as a whole.
Our Commitment
- We will provide products and information focused on hypertension, which has the largest number of patients among lifestyle-related diseases, as well as obesity, which is regarded as a key underlying factor in the development of such diseases.
- Leveraging our core business centered on lemons, we will continue functional research to explore and identify health benefits that contribute to people’s well-being.
- We will actively communicate these initiatives and findings to our stakeholders and continue to disseminate relevant information on an ongoing basis.
POKKA SAPPORO Food & Beverage offers a variety of products and services to contribute to the health and vitality of our customers. In the lemon product business, which the company is focusing on, it will deliver information on the value and benefits of lemons, including the health value research results it has developed through the production and sale of lemon products and their serving functions in cooking, thereby contributing to customers' daily dietary lives.


Developing products focused on customer health
POKKA PTE. LTD., a subsidiary of POKKA SAPPORO Food & Beverage, is developing products to reduce the amount of sugar used in products, as part of its efforts to address health issues through its beverage business. For Pokka brand products, the company has set a target to reduce the average amount of sugar in products sold in Singapore and Malaysia to less than 4.5% by 2030.
